K-Drama actress Kim Sae-Ron found dead at Seoul residence | What we know so far

New Delhi: South Korean actress Kim Sae-Ron, who is known for her roles in K-Dramas such as Listen to My Heart, Hi! School-Love On, The Queen’s Classroom, and more were found dead in her home on February 16, 2025. She was only 24 years old. According to online reports, the authorities found her dead after a friend, who was supposed to meet her, discovered her unresponsive body and reported the incident around 4:50-5 PM.

As per a report by the Korea Herald, the police department stated that there were no signs of forced entry. However, an investigation is underway to determine the cause of her death. Further, there was no evidence of external intrusion or other criminal suspicions has been confirmed yet, reported Chosun Biz.

Kim Sae-Ron’s past controversies

The actress was involved in a controversy in 2022 due to a DUI incident that significantly impacted her career. She was arrested for drunk driving after crashing into an electrical transformer, which caused a neighbourhood power outage. Her driving license was revoked following the accident. Following the arrest, Sae-Ron issued an official apology and compensated those affected by the accident. Her agency later revealed that she was working part-time to support herself financially.

In April 2024, she aimed for a theatre comeback but cancelled due to controversies and health issues. In November, reports emerged that she signed on for a film titled Guitar Man, but no updates followed.

Fans have been suspecting that the actress took her life following her career’s demise.

Kim Sae-Ron’s death has once again questioned the South Korean entertainment industry. With ‘fans’ ready to pounce on any idol/actor immediately after a scandal, the ones in the public eye are always very careful with their actions and words. And if any public figure were to be involved in a scandal, their career is very tough to revive.
