Game Changer makers file complaint after Ram Charan starrer leaks online

New Delhi: The makers of Ram Charan and Kiara Advani starrer Game Changer have filed a complaint against individuals for allegedly leaking the pirated print of the film online. The complaint also stated that the accused tried to extort money from the producers before leaking the film on social media.

Game Changer, directed by Shankar, was released in theatres on January 10 and is currently running in theatres worldwide. The leak of a pirated version of the film online is a major setback for the makers as the film is already struggling to mint revenues at the box office.

Game Changer makers file a complaint

As per a report by Aakashavaani, the Game Changer makers have filed a complaint with the Cybercrime department against around 45 individuals, who are suspected of leaking the pirated version of the film online. As per the complaint, the accused persons threatened the team members and demanded money on WhatsApp and other social media platforms for leaking the film if their demands were not met.

After the demands were not fulfilled, the plot points of the film were shared online just two days before the film’s theatrical release. On the day of the film’s release, an HD pirated print of Game Changer was also leaked on various social media platforms including Telegram.

Currently, the investigation is underway to understand if the individuals work independently or as a group or if it is part of a larger conspiracy. The makers have also provided evident that might play a crucial role in the case.

Game Changer Box Office Report

Ram Charan starrer Game Changer has earned Rs 96.11 crore in India and Rs 130.7 crore worldwide in four days of its release. The film opened with earning Rs 51 crore at the box office and witnessed a major dip in its collection from Day 2 onwards.
