Chris Martin makes spiritual stop at Maha Kumbh, after record-breaking Ahmedabad concert

New Delhi: Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin performed in front of India’s largest concert crowd ever in Ahmedabad on Sunday (January 26). After performing for 1.34 lakh fans, the singer was spotted making the most out of his India trip today.

On Monday, Chris Martin was seen attending the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela with his long-time girlfriend Dakota Johnson. Take a look at Chris’ energetic interaction with the paparazzi here.

Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson visit Maha Kumbh Mela

During their trip, Chris and Dakota explored the culture and heritage that India has to offer. They were previously seen visiting the historic Shri Babulnath Temple in Mumbai and Siddhivinayak Temple with Sonali Bendre, and Gayatri Joshi.

For those unaware, The Maha Kumbh Mela is a once-in-twelve-years festival that witnesses millions of devotees flock to the Triveni Sangam to take a dip in the holy waters to seek ‘moksha’. People from around the world visit India to attend the holy event. This year, the Maha Kumbh Mela began on January 13, 2025, and is set to conclude on February 26, 2025.

Coldplay’s record-breaking concert in India

Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour saw five visually stunning shows in India – three in Mumbai and two in Ahemadabad. The band’s official X account stated that the Ahmedabad day-2 show saw 1.34 lakh attendees, the largest crowd for a concert in India. Prior to this, Diljit Dosanjh and Justin Bieber held this record with 50,000 people in attendance.
