New Delhi: The much-awaited 78th British Academy Film Awards finally took place on Sunday (February 16, 2025), honouring the best of the entertainment industry at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The celebrated event, hosted by Doctor Who star David Tennant, was streamed in India on Lionsgate Play.

You will be amazed to know that the papal thriller Conclave won four titles, including Best Picture, at the ceremony. At the same time, The Brutalist equalled its awards tally by bagging four trophies, including Best Director for Brady Corbet and Best Actor for Adrien Brody.

BAFTA 2025 complete list of winners

Coming as a huge disappointment, director Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light failed to clinch a trophy in the Best Film Not in the English Language category at the 78th edition of the BAFTA Awards. It lost to France’s Emilia Perez. Here is the list of winners in different categories:

The award ceremony featured Jeff Goldblum delivering a moving piano tribute to renowned figures such as David Lynch and Maggie Smith. Other honorable mentions in the performance included Donald Sutherland, James Earl Jones, Joan Plowright, Gena Rowlands, Kris Kristofferson and Shelley Duvall.
