Auto driver, who took blood-soaked Saif Ali Khan to hospital, rewarded – deets inside

New Delhi: The auto driver, who took injured actor Saif Ali Khan to the Lilavati Hospital after he was stabbed multiple times, has been rewarded Rs 11,000 by an institution, as per a News 24 report. He has been rewarded the money for his commendable deeds. The auto driver named Bhajan Singh took Saif Ali Khan to the hospital on the dreadful night of January 16.

For the unversed, Saif Ali Khan will be discharged on Tuesday (January 21), after being in hospital for five days. He underwent two major surgeries – one near his spine and another cosmetic. After being stabbed, the actor was accompanied by his son Taimur Ali Khan and a staff member.

The auto driver, who took Saif to the Lilavati Hospital, has been rewarded Rs 11,000 by an institution for his good work. Speaking with ANI, he said that he didn’t charge any money for the ride. He was quoted as saying, “I was called there (Bandra Police Station) for questioning…I did not think about money that night…I have not been contacted by Kareena Kapoor or anyone else so far. I have not had any conversation with them.”

Recalling the night of January 16, he shared that he noticed a woman shouting, “Ruko, ruko, ruko (stop, stop, stop) and asked him to take a U-turn. He then stopped at the building gate and saw a man, soaked in blood. He further added, “The child was sitting in the middle and he (Saif) was sitting to his right. I could not recognise him initially. I thought he was just a patient and had to reach the hospital as soon as I could.”

Saif Ali Khan attacker arrested

The 30-year-old accused Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad from Bangladesh has been arrested in connection with the case. As per the reports, he has confessed to the crime and is currently in police custody. Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan is currently recovering and has been advised a complete bed rest for a month.
