Arrest warrant against Sonu Sood by Ludhiana Court in fraud case – Know what happened

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has landed in legal trouble. Ludhiana Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur recently issued an arrest warrant against the 51-year-old hunk. The action was taken after the renowned star failed to appear in court despite being repeatedly summoned to testify.

The case involves an alleged fraud of Rs 10 lakh. It was filed by Ludhiana-based lawyer Rajesh Khanna against an individual named Mohit Shukla, who allegedly lured him into investing in a fake Rijika coin. Several serious allegations, including fraud, have been highlighted in the complaint.

What is the case?

After the complaint, Khanna summoned Sood to testify in court. However, despite multiple summons, Sood did not appear. Due to his absence, the court has now issued an arrest warrant against him.

Next hearing on February 10

The warrant has been sent to Oshiwara Police Station, Andheri West, Mumbai, directing them to arrest the actor and present him in court. The next hearing is scheduled for Monday (February 10, 2025). Meanwhile, Sood addressed the matter in an exclusive conversation with TV9, calling the allegations a publicity stunt and denying any involvement in the case.

Sonu Sood breaks his silence

Sood said, “I am not a brand ambassador for anything. I have already responded through my lawyer and will do so again on February 10, 2025. I just want to clarify that I am not connected to any of this. I do not even know anything about it.” He added that this is a publicity attempt and that is why such accusations are being made.

On the professional front, Sood was last seen on the silver screen in Fateh. The action thriller also featured Naseeruddin Shah, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles. Sadly, it failed to make a significant impact at the Box Office. The much-talked-about film marked Sood’s debut as a director.
