New Delhi: Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam was released in theatres on January 14, 2025, and fans have been largely waiting to catch the film online. So far, the film has managed to earn over Rs 300 crore at the Box Office. But, even a month after its theatrical release, the makers are yet to release the film on OTT.

According to a report by the Economic Times, Sankranthiki Vasthunam will make its OTT release only after its world TV premiere. That’s right, fans will be able to catch Sankranthiki Vasthunam not only online but also on their televisions. The release date for Sankranthiki Vasthunam’s TV premiere is expected to be announced soon, while the OTT release seems to be facing a delay.

The makers have reportedly sold Sankranthiki Vasthunam’s satellite rights to Zee for a whopping Rs 27 crore. Using a different strategy, Zee is reportedly set to prioritise TV over OTT initially to draw as many viewers and revenue as possible.

The cast for Sankranthiki Vasthunam includes Venkatesh, Aishwarya Rajesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Anil Ravipudi, and Vijaykrishna Naresh. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Sankranthiki Vasthunam follows a female tech entrepreneur who is kidnapped upon returning to India. A police officer recruits her ex-boyfriend, a former cop, to help in the rescue, leading to humorous situations as he balances his ex and current wife.

According to a report by Telugu123.in, Sankranthiki Vasthunam’s massive success has paved the way for a sequel. It is to be noted that the director Anil Ravipudi has previously hinted that the storyline for the film has enough depth to be continued. Although there is no confirmation, it seems like the makers have built on the already entertaining plot to clear a sequel.
