UPSC IES/ISS Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the UPSC IES/ISS Examination 2025:

1. Educational Qualification:

Indian Economic Service (IES):
Candidates must hold a Postgraduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a recognized university.

Indian Statistical Service (ISS):
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subjects or a Master’s Degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognized university.

2. Age Limit:

The candidate must be between 21 to 30 years as of 1st August 2025.

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: Up to 5 years
• OBC: Up to 3 years
• PwBD: Up to 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Up to 5 years

• SC/ST/PwBD/Female Candidates: No fee

Selection Process

The selection process for UPSC IES/ISS Examination 2025 consists of two stages:

Written Examination (Part-I):

• The written exam will carry a maximum of 1000 marks and will include subjects such as General English, General Studies, and subject-specific papers (Economics/Statistics).
• The exam will be conducted in Objective and Descriptive formats.

Interview/Personality Test (Part-II):

• Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for an interview, which carries 200 marks.
