Kapil Sharma’s increasing ‘arrogance’ after success? Rajiv Thakur addresses on-set fallout

New Delhi: Kapil Sharma is arguably the biggest comedian in India.  The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show on Netflix has seen great success and Kapil Sharma does not seem to stopping anytime soon. This success came with rumours that claimed Kapil had become ‘arrogant’ after achieving heights of success. With news about on-set arguments and fights, speculation spread that the comedian has been picking fights in fits of arrogance.

However, Comedian Rajiv Thakur, a part of The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show recently addressed the fallout between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover. Rajiv also went on to speak highly of Kapil Sharma and defended him against such rumours. Here is what he had to say.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rajiv Thakur was asked if he ever felt jealous or threatened by Kapil Sharma’s success. He immediately denied it and went on to explain why Kapil is a hardworking and kind man. Rajiv urges the audience to understand that Kapil is under constant pressure to work and deliver his scripts regularly. Explaining how he has never fumbled on his comedic timing, Rajiv spoke about Kapil’s welcoming personality and incredible professionalism.

“It’s not about arrogance. If I became as successful and famous as him, I might lose my mind too. Nobody handles fame as well as he does. I, who don’t even have 5 per cent of his success, sometimes feel irritated by fans,” said Rajiv Thakur.

The comedian also spoke about Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover. He first clarifies that both parties do not hold any grudges anymore. Rajiv points out that if their fight was truly serious, then they would not be able to have such good on-screen chemistry. “If their fight was so serious, how are they still mingling and shooting together today? Money can make you work together, but if you observe the atmosphere on set, you’ll see they genuinely enjoy each other’s company. Even after the shoot, they sit together,” stated Rajiv.
