Deva Box Office collection Day 1: Shahid Kapoor’s actioner beats Sky Force but…

New Delhi: Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde’s Deva was released in theatres on January 31 and opened to decent reviews. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film minted Rs 5 crore on its opening day, less than what was expected. However, the opening of Deva was also lower than that of Shahid’s previous release, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which also starred Kriti Sanon.

Apart from Deva, other movies currently running in theatres are Sky Force, which only minted Rs 2.75 on its opening day, and Emergency, which earned Rs 2.50 crore. Let’s explore further details about the movie and its Box Office run.

According to early estimates on the industry tracker Sacnilk, Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde’s film earned Rs 5 crore on its first day. Deva failed to cross the opening-day numbers of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which earned Rs 6.7 crore. His other previous releases, including Jersey, minted Rs 3.2 crore, while Kabir Singh earned Rs 20.21 crore on its opening day. However, the opening day numbers of Deva remain dismal despite the film beating Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s last week’s release, Sky Force.

Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrrews, registered 10.24% Hindi occupancy on its first day in theatres. While the morning show had a footfall of 5.87 per cent, the occupancy increased for afternoon and evening shows. For afternoon shows, the occupancy was 9.18 per cent while for evening shows, it was 9.77 per cent.
